How do you know it’s the right time to leave your current job?

Should I or Should I not leave my job!

This is the million-dollar question most of us ask ourselves at some point in our careers. It can be overwhelming and super stressful but it’s okay to think about starting a new career especially if you no longer feel challenged, appreciated, or just want to start over.  Leaving your job is not as terrible as most people think but it’s still very hard. You need to be sure about your decision. Therefore, I use the 30 Day Deadline (one of the ways I used in my consultation) Method to help working women find the answer.

The 30 Day Deadline Method

You have to write down all the things you don’t like about your job. You need to even write the small things like the irritating guy next to you. Here are some of the most common questions to ask yourself to get you started,

  • Do you feel unsatisfied with your job?
  • Do you feel exploited?
  • Do you feel you deserve much better than your current job?
  • Do you want more freedom than 9-5 provides?
  • Do you feel the company has a bad future?

These are just some general questions. You must ask more questions regarding the problems you are facing. Please remember the drill is to ask as many questions as possible.

Let’s analyze The Data

Now, filter your list and find the top 10 reasons. Take time and write down how you can fix it. I know it’s going to be hard but keep up with it. Perform your best during these 30 days. After the end of this 30 day period, ask yourself these questions.

“ Did something change during this month? ”

“ Did I find the passion which I thought was lost? ”

“ Do I still feel like quitting? ”

If the answer is yes, congratulations you are moving out of a place you shouldn’t be. If the answer is no, congratulations you are in a place you should be.

Conclusion: I lied to you.

Actually, I lied to you. I cannot tell you when it’s the right time to leave your job. Actually, nobody can tell you this except one person and this person is you. It’s your life and you know about yourself more than anyone. I can only help you but you are the one who will have to find out answers, ultimately.
